Complete Hajj Rituals Guide
A step-by-step guide to the rites of Hajj
What is Hajj?
Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah that every able Muslim must perform at least once in a lifetime if they can afford it.
A step-by-step guide to the rites of Hajj
The Hajj takes place during the month of Dhul Hijjah, culminating in the rituals on the 8th to the 12th days of the month. This guide outlines the main stages of the journey.
Before You Travel
Complete your Hajj application, obtain your visa through our team, arrange vaccinations as required, and pack modest, comfortable clothing and the essentials listed in our packing guide.
Day 1 - Arrival and Ihram
On the 8th of Dhul Hijjah pilgrims enter Ihram and travel to Mina, where they spend the day in prayer and preparation before heading to Arafat.
Day 2 - Day of Arafat
The 9th of Dhul Hijjah is the Day of Arafat, the heart of Hajj. Pilgrims stand in supplication on the plain of Arafat until sunset, seeking forgiveness and mercy.
Day 3 - Muzdalifah and Jamarat
After sunset pilgrims move to Muzdalifah, pray Maghrib and Isha together, and collect pebbles for the stoning ritual, then return to Mina.
Day 4 - Qurbani, Tawaf al-Ifadah and Shaving
Pilgrims stone the three Jamarat, offer the sacrifice (Qurbani), perform Tawaf al-Ifadah around the Kaaba, and shave or trim their hair.
Days 5-6 - Days of Tashreeq
Pilgrims continue stoning the Jamarat over the next two days and may return to Makkah for peaceful worshipping before the final rites.
Day 7 - Tawaf al-Wida (Farewell)
Before leaving Makkah, pilgrims perform the farewell Tawaf al-Wida, circling the Kaaba seven times for the last time.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Avoid arguing with anyone during the rites, do not shave before the correct time, and keep your passport and valuables safe at all times. Follow your group leader's instructions.

Your Hajj is complete. Thank Allah, then share your experience with your family and community, and keep the spirit of the journey alive in your daily life.
